L7 bassist Jennifer Finch has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer, according to a statement from her bandmates. Finch has undergone multiple surgeries and faced serious complications following her diagnosis, leaving her with significant physical limitations and a need for extensive medical care.
Her family, friends and L7 have organized a GoFundMe campaign to help pay for in-home nursing, physical and speech therapy, medical equipment and other related costs so Finch can continue receiving treatment at home. The band said the goal is to keep her comfortable “with the care, dignity and support she needs.” Funds raised will also go toward covering out-of-pocket medical and legal expenses, as well as preserving Finch’s artistic archive and completing a creative project originally planned for release next year.
Finch, known for her work as a musician, writer, photographer and visual artist, had been set to join L7 for its upcoming Last Hurrah Tour dates in the U.S. The band said she will not be able to participate but asked that the tour continue as planned. L7 said Finch’s care remains its top priority while the tour moves forward in her honor.
Organizers are asking supporters to donate to the GoFundMe campaign or help share it to raise awareness.
