The night began with singer-songwriter, harf., who opened the show with an acoustic original song, just voice and guitar. He was later followed on stage by The Subs in order to have a full band backing his set. The soundscape expanded throughout the venue and continued on toward a more bouncy and lighthearted set.

Will Harford, who performs under the name of harf., channels strong emotion and intense passion throughout his live shows. Having a band to back his vocals only elevated his stage presence and enabled a more exhilarating experience. The musicians created a unique, cohesive sound that delivered Harford’s lyrics beautifully.

A standout moment came with the song “your patience, it ran so high,” which built a room of excitement. The Subs created a strong backdrop while harf. led the intensity, and the crowd responded with the same energy. He is known for his intimate songwriting style as an indie folk musician. He closed his set with the song “Daisy,” holding a more open feeling and allowing the performance to come to a natural finish. harf. and The Subs never fail to leave a lasting impression on an audience through emotional build.

South Carolina based indie rock band Winyah spent a June night tearing up the stage at Asbury Park’s admired venue, The Stone Pony. This group has been on a fast yet steady rise in the music industry for quite some time, building a loyal following one performance at a time. The New Jersey show, part of the North 2 Shore Festival lineup, highlighted the qualities that have been fueling their rapid growth. The band’s natural chemistry contributes to their compelling stage presence, each member feeding off of the others to create an engaging atmosphere.

Winyah’s audience was ecstatic with anticipation, roaring before the band even struck the first chord. Their set opened with “Feel It All Again,” an original song of theirs that immediately drew in the crowd with its contagious energy. This song set the tone for a night of hard hitting guitar riffs and heartfelt performances. The summer heat inside The Stone Pony only added to the energy as a tightly packed crowd filled the floor, pressing against the barricade with smiles, cheers, and constant movement. Fans jumped, laughed, and sang along together, all experiencing an unforgettable night of surging live music.

Throughout the years, The Stone Pony has proven to be a staple venue for emerging artists. Winyah fit right in on this iconic stage, delivering a performance that matched the Pony’s reputation for showcasing rising talent. The band’s energy never wavered and continued to spark waves of energy through their upbeat melodies, while still enticing the crowd during quieter moments. They have a way of creating a buzzing bond with their audiences with an electric atmosphere radiating from the barricade to the back wall of the venue.

The fan favorite “Lot to Learn” created an even more explosive moment, drawing one of the loudest reactions of the night as the crowd jumped and sang along in full voice. Winyah ended the night covering Jack Johnson’s “Good People” and Tame Impala’s “Elephant,” finalizing their set with their love of reimagining beloved tracks.
