Cage The Elephant released their new single “Beaches In Tennessee” on July 10, marking the band’s first new music in two years and their first release under a new deal with Big Loud Rock. The signing was announced alongside the track, which was produced by Justin Raisen and Jeremiah Raisen (SADPONY), known for their work with artists including Charli xcx, SZA and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

The song was written primarily around a guitar part from Brad Shultz and was recorded with a stripped down, live-in-the-room approach. Frontman Matt Shultz said the track relates to a mental health crisis he experienced a few years ago, during which he was hospitalized for close to three months. He described the song as a fictionalized retelling of that period, written from a place of hard-won perspective rather than pain.

The single follows a busy stretch for the band, who went directly into the studio after wrapping their run as support act on Oasis’s Live ’25 tour. According to the band, that tour renewed their drive to keep evolving creatively rather than take time off.

Big Loud Rock co-founder Joey Moi said the label is glad to welcome a band still willing to take creative risks two decades into its career. Formed in Bowling Green, Kentucky in 2006, Cage The Elephant has won two GRAMMY Awards for Best Rock Album and earned multiple Alternative and Triple A radio No. 1s over their career.
