LIVE REVIEW: CHANCE THE RAPPER – COLORING BOOK TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY TOUR @ COCA-COLA ROXY, ATLANTA, GA – SEPTEMBER 3, 2026

Chance the Rapper gets the Roxy on their feet Thursday night while on tour celebrating 10 years of his Grammy winning album “Coloring Book”. That album won him “Best New Artist”, “Best rap performance”, and Best rap album”. He brought an insane energy, smoke, confetti, a light show, and some really special friends! Several fans even toughed out the rain and the intense heat for hours just to get a good spot on the floor. And every Georgian knows that to be dedication in September with temperatures in the high 90s and enough humidity to make the air heavy.

La Reezy was the opener and he started the show with a great stage presence covering every inch of the stage and interacting with the crowd. He is promoting his new album “Skiddle Bandana”. At age 21 he already has more than 200 songs to his name and 3 studio albums. Along with proving himself a very hardworking and creative musician, the New Orleans native is very involved in his community and promoting positive change.

Chance the Rapper came out strong with great stage presence, energy, and eye catching visuals. The crowd’s response was immediate and engaged for the whole show. Hands were in the air, they were all singing along and cheering between songs. My personal favorite performance of the night was “All Night” from the “Coloring Book” album. I love the song and the room went crazy when he played it. Chance very much worked the stage connecting with fans all over the venue. At one point he stepped off of the stage and sang from within the crowd. The energy stayed high all night. Speaking of a really great energy, Bow Wow was the first to join him for a couple of songs and he lit up the stage even more. It was honestly hard to keep my camera on him at some points. It’s no surprise he’s such a great performer, he caught Snoop Dog’s attention with his freestyle at age 6 and released his first album at age 13! The chemistry between the two was great and his appearance was a really nice touch on the night. Being a car guy, I have been a fan of his since his role in “The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift”. After being mentored by Jermaine DuPri, Bow Wow now gives back to the community through youth outreach and mentorship programs aimed at helping younger artists and athletes navigate the pitfalls of fame at a young age. 

Chance took back the spotlight and did a few more songs by himself keeping the energy and momentum up until the next guest arrived, Georgia native, Quavo. The Migos frontman added another special touch to the show while keeping fans on their feet and engaged. A fun fact, Quavo also had ties to the Fast and Furious franchise, being featured alongside Lil Uzi Vert and Travis Scott on the lead single “Go Off” of the film “The Fate of the Furious”. After being shot outside of a bowling alley in Houston, Texas, as well as losing his nephew/Migos bandmate, Takeoff, to gun violence that same night, Quavo became very outspoken about gun violence. He does a lot for the community and to raise awareness of gun violence around Atlanta. His performance was really well received and his chemistry with Chance on stage was special to see as well. 

Chance the Rapper finished out the night just as strong as he started it after completing his setlist, pushing the curfew, and delivering an exceptional show to a very excited crowd, going out behind the smoke machines and confetti. I spoke to several fans after the show and got the same response from every single one of them. They all said it was the best show they have been to and would absolutely catch him the next time he came around. They loved La Reezy and were stoked to see Bow Wow and Quavo and all felt like Chance the Rapper delivered just as well or better than they hoped. The more I read about Chance the more I was impressed by him too. Alongside of being an excellent performer he too does a lot for his community. He cofounded SocialWorks, a non-profit based out of Chicago. Their mission is “To empower the youth through the arts, education, and civic engagement”. Since 2016 it was generated over 12 million dollars for the Chicagoland community and reached over 50 thousand students. 

The takeaway…it was a great night filled with world class musicians and all around good people who care about their community sharing their craft. Seeing any of them and supporting their causes is a great way to spend any day.
