Ozzy Osbourne Begins “Heavy Training” for Final Black Sabbath Show at Villa Park

The Prince of Darkness is preparing for his last stand.Ozzy Osbourne has begun an intensive training regimen ahead of Black Sabbath’s final concert, set for July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England. This monumental event, dubbed “Back to the Beginning,” will also mark Osbourne's final solo performance.


A Historic Farewell

The “Back to the Beginning” concert promises to be a landmark in heavy metal history. The original Black Sabbath lineup—Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—will reunite for the first time in two decades. The event boasts a stellar supporting lineup including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Alice in Chains, and many more.

Notably, Osbourne plans to perform a full solo set before joining Sabbath onstage for select tracks—his first complete performance since 2018.


Training for the Stage

At 76, Ozzy is undergoing rigorous preparation to get back into performance shape. On his SiriusXM show Ozzy Speaks, he shared that he’s doing two sets of three-minute walks daily and weight training.

“It really is like starting from scratch… I’m waking up in my body.”

This comeback follows years of health setbacks and surgeries, making the moment even more significant for fans.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice.


Documentary Insight

Fans will also get a behind-the-scenes look at Osbourne's journey through the upcoming documentary Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape From Now, debuting on Paramount+ this fall. The film will explore his health challenges and the road to this final performance.
