System Of A Down don’t do things small. They never have. But even by their standards, what’s happening with this Rose Bowl run has become something else entirely.
It started as a single hometown show. One night in Pasadena, billed as the band’s only U.S. date of 2027. That alone would have been enough to send the fanbase into a frenzy, since this is a band that hasn’t exactly flooded the market with LA area shows in recent years.
Then came a second date. And now, as reported, a third.
This new show lands on June 10th, and it comes with its own statement piece: Gojira, the GRAMMY winning French outfit, stepping in to open. That’s not a filler booking. That’s a band putting real weight behind a date that technically wasn’t supposed to exist a week ago.
The presale for the June 10th show opened today, and anyone who already registered for the first show’s presale gets access to this one too. General tickets go up for grabs Monday at 10am PST, for anyone who still wants in once the presale dust settles.

Here’s the thing about the Rose Bowl. In certain configurations, that venue holds more than 89,700 people. That’s not a venue, that’s a small city. And System Of A Down are on pace to fill it three times over.
Serj Tankian put it about as plainly as you can on social media, saying the band is floored by the response. I don’t think that’s spin. I think that’s a guy watching a “one and done” hometown gig snowball into a three night stand and genuinely not knowing what to make of it.
For longtime fans, especially the ones who’ve waited years for System Of A Down to actually play near home, this is the moment to stop hesitating. Demand clearly isn’t slowing down, and neither is the lineup. Gojira joining for the 10th only raises the stakes for whichever night you end up in the building.
What began as a quiet, almost modest plan for one hometown night has turned into a three day event that the band themselves seem a little stunned by.
Sometimes the loudest band in the room is also the one most surprised by its own gravity.
