Roxette has canceled the North American leg of its 40th Anniversary Tour, which was scheduled to visit 14 cities across the United States and Canada this fall.

The band announced the news in a statement shared on social media, citing the rapidly rising expense of bringing the production across North America.

“Due to hugely increased touring costs, Live Nation US has decided to postpone the North American tour,” the band stated, adding that they hope to return at a later date.

Although the announcement describes the tour as postponed, the individual concerts have been marked as canceled through Ticketmaster. Fans who purchased tickets will receive refunds through their original point of purchase.

The tour was scheduled to begin September 10 at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan, and continue through October 9 at White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, Washington. The run included an Atlanta-area stop at Ameris Bank Amphitheatre in Alpharetta on September 22.

Taylor Dayne and Nick Lowe & Los Straitjackets were scheduled to appear as special guests.

Per Gessle said he, vocalist Lena Philipsson, and the band were disappointed by the decision and had been looking forward to returning to North America. Gessle also expressed hope that the tour can be rescheduled in the future. Canceled Roxette North American Tour Dates
